Securing your baby in a kangaroo, we will execute pre-cardio to soft latin rhythms as salsa, bachata, then we will use body/baby weight fitness conditioning techniques to get you back to your pre-baby weight!

Q: Do I have to be a member of Latin Fitness Ztudio?

A: No!! Everyone is welcome!

Q: I am going to miss the first class (classes) or some clases. what if I miss a class!?

A: Mommy.Fit will be an ongoing class, so there is nothing to worry!

Q: What if I had a C- section?

If you had a c-section check with your doctor first and expect to wait until you recover from your operation before beginning an exercise program. An incision from a C-section takes at least several weeks to heal, and it may be some time after that before you feel like working out. However, walking at an easy pace is encouraged because it promotes healing and helps prevent blood clots and other complications.

If you weren’t active during your pregnancy, or tapered off your fitness routine as the weeks went on, check with your doctor or midwife before you begin exercising.

Q: How old does my baby needs to be to join the class?

Comfortably, at 2 to 3 months. By the end of his first month, your baby should be able to lift his head briefly and turn it from side to side when lying on his stomach. At around 6 to 8 weeks, if he’s especially strong and coordinated, he’ll raise his head while lying on his back. When you carry him on your shoulder, he’ll have enough control to hold his head up shakily, but not for long. He’ll also be strong enough to hold up his head while sitting in a car seat  or front pack. Wait until he can hold his head up steadily without any support from you to use a jogging stroller or a backpack, though. If you carry your baby in a sling, make sure his face is visible since he can’t yet move his head to breathe easily.

Q: I can’t imagine how I would work out with my baby! What do you do?

A: LFZ Instructors have created a fun, unique warm ups that we do with the baby! We lift them and dance with them and utilize them as weights . We use the babies again for upper and lower body work, abdominal conditioning and our “Mommy Meditation — Stretch”. So both Mom and Baby benefit from it!

Q: What if my baby needs to feed during the class?

A: We work around our babies’ schedule; so feeding, diaper changing, caring for baby goes on throughout the class., so that if Mom needs to care for her baby during part of the class, there are still lots of activities and benefits left to enjoy!

Q: I have a really fussy baby and I don’t think he/she will co-oporate in a class!

A:  There is so much Mom and Baby interaction. After the warm up with baby, if they are fussy Mom can still do some of the class holding baby to calm them down. All of our classes are geared towards Mom and Baby together!

Q: I have heard about fitness classes that you do with the baby in the “snuggly” or front or back carriers but my baby is heavy and it is hard on my back… I have to “wear” my baby?

A: With Mommy. Fit we interact with our babies and utilize them as weights, everything in these programs are modifiable…..using a “snuggly” or baby carrier is totally optional — They do come in handy for younger babies who would perhaps sleep in them while Mom works out.
